Roger Williams and Williams College Meet Clarifications

Just a few meet clarifications………………

Roger Williams meet at the end of May actually has events running on Friday nite the 29th therefore, unless Coach Craft hears from you tomorrow by 7p (saying you will not be doing Friday) if there is an event that your childs coach thinks will suit them they will be entered.

The Williams College meet afternoon session on 6/14 is actually starting much later than originally planned. 13 and overs and 9/10’s are afternoon and it most likely won’t be starting till around 4p. This college is at least a 3 hour drive so that being said if anyone wants to opt out you have until 7p tomorrow nite to let Coach Craft know as he has to submit entries for both of these meets tomorrow nite.

Lots of info for 5/3 Meet

So for our tri meet this Sunday we are still short on 2 of the volunteer positions. We need a runner (to run the times when the sheets are completed to me so they can be entered) and a parking lot attendant (to direct families to not park in the Kingsbury lot). Please let me know sometime today that we have a few parents that can fill these spots.

Warmups are at 7a and Coach Craft would like all swimmers to get there around 6:45. Please make sure you are representing our team in your Kingfish apparel and prepared to swim fast and have fun!

We will be having a concession stand on deck Sunday morning so make sure to stop over there! All monies made will go back into equipment purchases for our team.

Please remember not to park in the Kingsbury Club parking lot! All families need to park in the Rockland Trust/Hannaford parking lot.

The stroke and turn clinic will be at the club immediately following the meet around 12:30. One of the officials Lisa Sholudko will be running it and Coach Craft would really appreciate it if we had a good turnout of parents sitting in on this training.

Concession Stand 5/3 Meet

Coach Craft has mentioned he would like to have a concession stand for the meet next week.

If there is anyone that would be willing to head this up and get some donations from some of our families it would be appreciated.

We aren’t looking to do anything very big just small items like granola bars, fruit snacks, donuts/muffins, bagels, pretzels and then waters and gatorade for drinks.

We would need someone to organize all the donations, get them dropped off early and set up and then a few parents to work the table.

We don’t have much time to organize so if there is anyone that would be able to get this going and/or donate please let me know.

5/3 Meet~Stroke and Turn Clinic

Just a reminder our first long course meet of the season is coming up next Sunday May 3 at the Kingsbury Club. Details to follow regarding times, events, etc but please make sure all swimmers have team suits, caps, and at least a team tshirt or other apparel to represent the team at the meet.

I have latex and silicone caps in stock as well as some sizes of tshirts, all colors and this is what I have left for suits:

We will also be running a Stroke and Turn clinic right after the meet at the club with Lisa Sholudko one of our officials. This clinic was requested by one of our parent officials so we hope to have as many people attend as possible. If you are currently an official or feel like it may be something you would be interested in please plan on attending and be in touch with me regarding what we provide to you if you agree to officiate on behalf of Kingfish.

Volunteer positions for 5/3 Meet

For our dual meet at Kingsbury Club on 5/3 here are the volunteer positions we need filled. If everyone could step up and offer to take these positions especially if you haven’t had the opportunity to volunteer we would appreciate it. If by Tuesday of next week we still have positions open individuals will be assigned jobs by Coach Craft.

Two parents keeping an eye on Locker rooms for both Boys and Girls sections, regarding messiness and staying in the proper half.

1 Parent patrol for the back Hallway to make sure kids are not running around the club- two people needed for the whole meet to share.

Parking lot director to make sure people park at bank and grocery store- one person from 6:30-10:00

Clean up crew- 3 people from end of meet for about half an hour

Also, we need 3 timers per lane (total of 18) and one backup and a runner.

Vacation Week Practice Schedule

DEV – Monday 4/20 only balance of week off
AG – Sunday 4/19 and Monday 4/20 only balance of week off
REC – All groups regular practice schedule all week
JR/SR – Coach Craft and Coach Christian will let their groups know

Practice back at Kingsbury starting tomorrow pm

We have just been notified that Kingsbury should be ready for us to get back to our regular practice schedule starting tomorrow afternoon with DEV and AG practices at 4pm.

Unless you hear otherwise, normal practices will be held at Kingsbury for all groups including rec going forward.

Practice changes for all groups through next week

Kingsbury Club Pool is still closed trying to fix the pool pump. They are saying the pool may be closed through next Wednesday so here is what we have been able to work out with Percy Walker Pool for the time being.

Saturday 4/11: 430-6pm REC

Sunday 4/12 10am-12noon 10-11 AG and DEV and REC share pool 11-12 for JR and SR

Monday 4/13 4-5:15pm AG and DEV

Tuesday 4/14 4-5:15pm REC

Tuesday 4/14 7-9pm JR and SR

Please realize this is not the best situation however, we are working with what is available to us.

No Practice Tomorrow

We have just been notified that the pool pump at Kingsbury is broken and they need tomorrow to get it fixed. Therefore, there will be no practices held at Kingsbury tomorrow, Thursday.
